The lock up stage or more accurately the pre plaster stage is a critically important inspection to ensure the the builder has completed the following items:

  • wall straightening is complete;
  • outstanding frame inspection defects complete;
  • plumbing "rough ins" complete;
  • electrical "rough ins" complete;
  • ducted heating "rough-ins" complete.

Ideally the brickwork should be completed or at least a large amount so iSPECT Building Inspections inspectors in Perth can check the brick veneer wall cavity compliance. If the brickwork is not completed at this time and your builder is conducting a “reverse build” of your dwelling, the brickwork will be checked at both the Fixing and Final stages of inspection.

The lock up stage inpection is the thrid of four new home stage inspections recommended by iSPECT Building Inspections:

  1. Slab Stage
  2. Frame Stage
  3. Lockup
  4. Completion
